Timeline: Post Day of the Fall

Decima Francesca Fidelis
Age: 124
Height: 5’5
Origin: Earth
Occupation: N/A
Quote: “How do you kill a snake, girl? You cut off its fucking head!”
Up until a freak accident that broke the Artificer’s control over her, Decima Fidelis was just another of the enigmatic destroyer’s puppet army of abominations, mechanically reanimated corpses hellbent on wiping out humanity.
Upon coming to, Decima realises that she has a one in a million oppurtunity to kill humanity’s greatest enemy for good, but she will need a local guide to help her – perfectly emboided in a workhouse urchin that she almost killed, Millicent.
Though not forthcoming with what happened in the days leading up to the Day of the Fall, Decima is clearly carrying a lot of guilt for what occured, as well as an undertandable trauma over being killed, dismembered and reanimted as an abomination.
If she was haughty and cold as a living human being, she is twice as unpleasant in death, though a little kindness in the right place may be enough to help her to open up again, and find her humanity.

Millicent (art by R.J Thorne)
Age: 14
Height: 5’3
Origin: The Colony
Occupation: Workhouse Girl
Quote: “Everybody gets angry or scared sometimes. Doctor.”
Millicent was abandoned on the doorstep of a foundling home as a baby, where she was raised by overbearing nuns until she reached eight years old, when she was acquired by the Rotham & Sons Textile Company as a child labourer.
The next six years saw young Millicent grow into a resourceful and brave teenager, often putting herself in harm’s way to protect her younger workmates, be it crawling under dangerous machinery that could kill her in a second, or stealing medicine to assist those suffering with illness.
Barely surviving the Artificer’s opening attack, Millicent ends up in rhe difficult company of a freed abomination, Doctor Decima Fidelis, who charges her with a mission: get her to the top of the colony’s old orbital lighthouse, she she can kill the Artificer once and for all.
Millicent gives herself one more objective: get past Decima’s cold front, and perhaps make a new friend in the middle of such horror.

Private Marcus Cross
Age: 21
Height: 5’11
Origin: The Colony
Occupation: Soldier
Quote: “Holy shit, kid, excellent work putting that horrible bastard down!”
Raised by his mother after his father walked out, Marcus was a conscientious young man, taking care of his mother until she passed from illness. After this he was forced from his family home, and into the arms of a street gang. Here, he was forced to become a thief and trouble causer to stay alive, until inevitably being caught and imprisoned by the constabulary.
In return for a waived sentence, young Marcus was conscripted into the military, where he went on to excel in basic training, his caring and precise nature taking well to discipline and structure. Led by the popular and accomplished Captain Ewen Darlington, Cross’ squad took on the Artificer’s forces with courage and skill when they arrived. Their orders were straightforward – Round up as many survivors as possible, and try to hold the line.

The Artificer
Age: Unknown
Height: Unknown
Origin: Unknown (believed to be Earth)
Occupation: N/A
Very little is known about the scourge of humankind, aside from the fact that they enacted the Day of the Fall from Earth, wiping out billions in an instant. They are the architect behind the dead ships, and the abomination horde, and will stop at nothing to destroy humanity to the last man, woman, and child.
Pre Day of the Fall

Decima Francesca Fidelis
Age: 24
Height: 5’4
Origin: Cheshire, England (Earth)
Occupation: Neurotechnology Researcher
Quote: “You are who you are, why try to be somebody you’re not?”
Doctor Decima Fidelis is the surviving heiress of the Fidelis Industrial Conglomerate, and has shown no interest in carrying on the legacy of her forebears.
She refuses to settle down or marry, instead moving from the family estate in Northern England to become the first female member of the Conservatory of Scientific Fellows in London, where she intends to upgrade the existing MindLink neural chip, heralding a new era of intelligent prosthetic limbs to help those that need them.
There are few people Decima makes any time for, but she very much values her friendship with fellow society outcast, Lady Ceres Preston. Though both women could not be any more different, their friendship is an unbreakable bond.
Decima is a cold and haughty woman, with a quick temper, and little time for those she considers beneath her time and attention. She can also be a loyal friend and protector, however, provided you can get past her cold front and win her over.

Ceres Amelia Preston III
Age: 24
Height: 6’0
Origin: Cotswolds, England (Earth)
Occupation: Artist/Philanthropist
Quote: “They already see me as an unstable, radical liberal, I hardly think those gentlemen can think any less of me at this point!”
Fifth in line to the Preston agricultural equipment empire, Ceres is very much not in with a chance of taking the reins, moreso considering that she never graduated St Pauls Academy for Girls.
She instead took the advice of her friend Decima, and took up a career doing what she loves, painting. During this quest, she befriended many notable Bohemians in the art scene, and ended up attending many parties and fundraisers, with the goal of improving the lives of the Great Empire’s poorest, especially workhouse children.
Tall, clumsy, and very earnest, Ceres was always the butt of somebody’s joke, until she met Decima Fidelis. After some time apart, the two reuinted, and became inseperable, often seen together in London’s alternative party scene.
Ceres is kind, loyal, and deeply empathic, a friend for life to anybody that gets to know her, and fun company to any meeting her for the first time.

Doctor Enitan Mugisha
Age: 42
Height: 6’2
Origin: Lagos, West Africa (Earth)
Occupation: Neurotechnology Researcher
Quote: “If I were a betting man, I’d put all my sovereigns on you and the Professor killing each other by elevenses.”
Enitan was born to a poor mining family outside the industrial hub of Lagos. When his father perished in a shaft collapse, he vowed to make a new life for himself, and joined the Imperial Navy at just sixteen, lying about his age to pass muster.
He remained in the Navy for twenty years, making a good name for himself as a dependable and skilled Marine until he left after falling in love with a Londoner while on leave. It was during his many long tours of duty that he became interested in the field of neurotechnology, having read many books published by prominent minds like Professor Ferdinand Julius, and ended up making his way into the Conservatory of Scientific Fellows after a long battle.
Reliable, friendly, and protective, he is Decimas’ much needed workmate.

Professor Ferdinand Julius
Age: 68
Height: 5,9
Origin: Calisto
Occupation: Lead Researcher
Quote: “The board might be happy to overlook your Bohemian quirks, but under my leadership you can push your luck only so far.”
Hailing from one of Calisto’s most prominent dynasties, Ferdinand Julius was always in possession of a keen intellect, and soon proved himself in his school, and later university, for his aptitude with starship engineering.
Upon graduating, Julius relocated to Earth, where he easily gained a place in the Conservatory of Scientific Fellows. His work on the refinement of starship fuel consumption was wildly successful, allowing the Great Empire to spread its scouts and pioneers even further among the stars, and he was considered an Imperial hero for his efforts.
The years since have been comfortable, sometimes boring for the Professor, and he jumped at the opportunity to lead the MindLink 2.0 project, hoping to retire at the end.
Short tempered, bombastic, and holding some old fashioned views, Julius can be a bad person to get on the wrong side of.

Lord Arthur Fidelis VIII
Age: 53
Height: 5,7
Origin: Cheshire, England (Earth)
Occupation: Industrial Baron
Quote: “You impertinent little brat, you will respect your father when under his roof!”
The current head of the Fidelis dynasty, an aristocratic family going back centuries, Lord Arthur is possessed of great cunning and reserve, but is perfectly capable of charming and impressing when he needs to.
Possessed of a formidable mind, he runs the everyday affairs of the Fidelis Industrial empire with an iron fist, often stepping in to deal with issues personally, much to the terror of his employees.
Having lost his son and ideal heir in a military action, he is left with only his wayward daughter, Decima, to inherit the business, but must first return her to society’s fold, and away from a dangerous life of Bohemian ideals, and seeking success in a man’s field.
Distant, cold, and often merciless, Lord Arthur is a solid friend, terrifying work master, and cold, unavailable father.
